The Beatles are now on iTunes

The Beatles have finally landed in iTunes. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison’s families have agreed to sell The Beatles’ back catalog on the music service after years of wrangling with Apple.

With 256 songs, documentaries, and other videos, it costs $150, which must be the priciest purchase on iTunes. Other albums, including Help!, Abbey Road, and my favorite the Magical Mystery Tour, cost $12.99, with the songs available for individual purchase at $1.29 each.

Nexus S confirmed by Eric Schmidt at the Web 2.0

Google CEO has just been addressing the Web 2.0 conference, and took to the stage holding the much-rumoured new Google phone – the Nexus S. Yes, it’s real now. Schmidt didn’t mention the hardware manufacturer, but this is clearly the same Samsung Android phone that’s been all over the internet for some time. There’s a glossy plastic bezel up front housing an AMOLED screen, a pair of discrete volume buttons on the left side, and a black plastic back (textured similarly to the BlackBerry Bold, though patchier) which seemed too roughly manufactured to be anything but a prototype.
He also said Android 2.3 will arrive within the next few weeks, presumably on the Nexus S first.

Sharp LYNX 3D Android Smartphone with 3D Touchscreen

The Sharp LYNX 3D has a 3.8-inch touchscreen (800×480 resolution) with a vertically zoned parallax barrier, enabling naked-eye 3D viewing, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 9.6 MP camera with 720p video recording, and it runs on Android 2.1. Sharp also threw in Japan-specific features, such as a OneSeg digital TV tuner or an e-wallet function.

The LYNX 3D converts 2D pictures to 3D by software processing. It can switch between 2D and 3D display with one touch. From now on, 3D content for the LYNX 3D will also be available from DOCOMO Market, which provides application downloads for smartphones. Buyers can also expect some pre-installed 3D content, such as games.

The LYNX 3D will be released in December in three colors: Blue, White and Black, with an upgrade to Android 2.2 planned for Spring 2011.

Google Nexus S appears in first photos

These pictures were taken about a month ago. As you can see, it definitely bears resemblance to the Galaxy S series except it has a front-facing camera and it will be running Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread. Google Nexus S will have a 5 megapixel camera and 1500mAh battery.
