The BenQ-Siemens P51 is no ordinary mobile phone it is a Smartphone which works like a mobile office in the users hand. The P51 comes in an attractive silver coloured casing & measures 122 x 60 x 20 mm which is compact considering all its capabilities. The handset comes with 128 Mbytes of internal memory & with a MicroSD™ memory card slot for memory expansion. The user can gain 4 hours worth of talk time & 150 hours of standby time from the battery. The BenQ-Siemens P51 weighs a total of 170 grams which is a good weight for a mobile device of these capabilities.
The phone comes with a well designed keypad which is a full keyboard with the numerical keys coloured in black to make them stand out from the QWERTY keys. The QWERTY keyboard is extremely useful for when the user ids typing documents & inputting large amounts of text like they would do on their office PC. The user has a selection of input methods on the P51 which include the keyboard, the touch screen or by using the stylus pen on the screen. The large bright coloured screen provides 65k colours on a TFT touch screen which has a screen resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The screen displays a colourful menu system which comes with pictured icons to assist the user. The user can navigate around the menu system by using the touch screen or the navigation control above the full keyboard.
The BenQ-Siemens P51 Smartphone comes with Windows Mobile 5.0 & Office applications which provides the user with the mobile office software which is needed for this portable business users companion. The P51 comes with quad band technology which works over GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900 networks. The user can connect to compatible devices using either a USB cable connection, a wireless Bluetooth™ connection or an infra red connection. The user can connect to their personal computer, laptop, headset or printers using any of the connectivity methods available on the BenQ-Siemens P51. The user can access the Internet which will display XHTML & HTML format Internet sites from the built in WAP browser. The Smartphone comes with Wifi & global positioning system GPS system.
The Smartphone comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera feature which allows the user to take photo which can be sent & shared with other contacts.
