The Nokia 6170 is a different clamshell handset from Nokia. It is almost certainly their most beautiful mobile to date by its flip cover. The first impression about the 6170 is its smooth stainless steel surfaces and chunky retro style. It's very masculine look. Both the face and back flaps of the mobile phone are enclosed in stainless steel and the material extends to the inside of the phone as well. The cell phone features a little exterior colors display which shows in order on incoming calls, date and time, and phone condition, and can too display wallpapers or screensavers and a bigger internal display with 65k colours clear and bright, even if smaller than some similar clamshells, and small efficient keypad.
The 6170 incorporate a VGA camera (640 x 480 pixels) with a video recording ability and a media player. The camera takes pictures in Standard, Portrait, and Night modes, and you be able to personalize pictures with a 4X zoom, three value settings, High, Normal , and Basic, a shutter sound, and a self-timer. You can shoot videos up to 4 min. in duration with sound, and you also get support for streaming media. The phone has excellent connectivity via high-speed data transfer on EDGE networks and USB. It's absent a Bluetooth connection, although has the majority features that you'd be expecting from a new phone, such as 40-chanel polyphonic ringtones and Java games, plus a few extras and comes inside in a nice metal case. Battery life is also excellent. Memory is limited so don't expect to store too many video clips.
You can customize the 6170 with a diversity of wallpapers, color schemes, sounds, screensavers, and graphics. If you're desire more choices, you can download them with the WAP 2.0 wireless Web browser. Via the voice recorder, you can moreover record your own AMR audio clips, next save them as ringtones. For playtime, the cell phones come with three Java games: Puzzle, Beach Race, and Backgammon II.
