Nokia 6300

Beautiful and flexible Nokia 6300 continue the plan line of its older 6xxx predecessor. The phone is triband and compatible with GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 networks. Even as atypical for Nokia to hollow such a slight look, the 6300 has almost 11 mm thickness. Look and functionality are absolutely assorted in this phone to present users a excellent experience with both. The handset is one of the newest add-ons to Nokia's S40 3rd Edition policy handsets. Positioned someplace flanked by mid and high-end class, Nokia 6300 certainly wins both class fans.
One of the smallest Nokia phone to be produced with so much care for feature, Nokia 6300 attract throughout its slim look. The huge display occupies the majority of the face of the handset, even as the backside of the phone is steel plate. Nokia 6300 measures closely 106 x 43.6 x 11.7 mm and weighs just 91 grams with battery.
The telephone has been planned and features just 2 outside keys: the power button on top and the volume key on the right side. The bottom of the telephone is occupied with a miniUSB port, 2.5mm headsets jack port and a charger port. The back of the handset features the 2 MP camera, just over the stainless steel cover up and the external speakerphone.

The keys of the phone are made of a glittery silver painted plastic which feels great to the touch. Not too large, neither too little the keys are swarming barely on 1/3 of the handset. You'll be capable to navigate the list of options of the phone during a 4-way control key and 2 contextual keys. The common accept/end calls keys complete the "command panel". The blue backlight gives users the aptitude to perform "night calls".

The large TFT display measures 31 x 41 mm (240 x 320 pix), supports16 million colors, which is approximately half the phone. Completely observable in the shiny light, the display can be adapted and features the active standby function. Fonts are too customizable and you are capable to select from 3 different sizes: small, normal and large and a full range of colors.

The 2 megapixel camera shoots in 6 diverse resolutions range from 160x120 to 1600x1200 pixels. There are a number of special effects that you can affect to your pictures such as: false colors, greyscale, sepia, negative and solarise. Other features contain self-timer, night mode, digital zoom 8x, white balance and image sequence. While typical, the camera lacks auto focus, flash and macro mode. Everything you shoot must be at a few distance to be in evidence (particularly text), but you can utilize the 4-way control key to center on distant objects. Also is able to record clips which are saved in 3GPP file format, but the resolutions are extremely low (128 x 96 or 176 x 144 pixels).

The easy interface is totally customizable. You'll be capable to play the radio in background, using additional pre-installed applications like Sensor, Presenter or Unit Converter.
The feature Pack 1 too offers the Bluetooth AD2P support as well as minor Java security services. Three games can amuse you if you are bored: 3D Snake, Football and Sudoku.

A mid-level cell phone gets a middling processor – ARM9 family running at 238 MHz speeds. The CPU estimator shows that the phones embed Jazelle technology which execute the Java byte code directly in the hardware. You'll boast quicker start-ups of Java applications as well as silky navigation in menu.

The internal memory is 7.8 MB, and not sufficient to let you store MP3 file, so you'll almost certainly require a microSD card. The slot card becomes observable behind you remove the cover from the back. Happily, you do not require removing the battery or your SIM card to be able to insert card.

A recently music player gets incorporated in Nokia's 6300 handset. It is MP3/MP4/AAC/AAC+ and eAAC+ compatible, but the Nokia Music Manager can convert for you if you want to play any other music file type.. You can utilize the equalizer and decide from 4 predefined modes (Pop, Rock, Jazz, and Classical) for a improved sound. There's too a good option if you want to extra improve the sound quality called Stereo widening (change it ON/OFF). The FM stereo radio offers a good reception of the stations. in addition, it can automatically search for all base stations and learn up to 20 from those found.

Nokia 6300 has a Li-Ion battery (BL-4C), with 860 mAh capacity that offers up to 3.5 hours of talk time and 348 hours of standby.
The sales package of the handset includes only one attractive accessory – Nokia Stereo Headsets HS-47 with the answer/end button.

Its look good and stylish, but as every one saying backup is very poor :-(, Voice Recording is poor. 6300 is having metal case (back side) so its not scratch free.Overall its good.

I was attracted to its stylish slim look. But unfortunately Nokia has disappointed and have spoilt their image as leaders in mobile.

The software is hanging, Battery draining very fast. and getting heated.

all my friends who had bought this phone have the same complaint. I would suggest Nokia get back all 6300 models from show rooms.

the sound quality on the standard headsets is exceptional, but the bass is not the best. stereo widening is great. headset volume is good enough even in heavy traffic.
the battery life is poor....
needs charging twice a day if u play games, listen to music and talk on the phone in moderate amounts.
the screen is amazing. it is very clear and the size is good. the camera is good in the image mode but no auto focus and micro mode. (the object should be atleast 30 cm away from camera.
camera is just ok in the video mode.
the loudspeaker is good and clear.
the volume on loudspeaker is alright.
the looks and feel of the phone are amazing...
the phone is fast while navigating through the menus, java games start very fast.
the phone gets a little hot with use, but that is not a very big problem...
message memory is very good, if u dont store files on the phone memory, all that free memory is utilised in messages.... i have around 750 messages stored already on my phone. i can store much more.
u can write messages of upto 1000 characters
the buttons are comfortable to an average size hand (im 5 foot 10 inches tall)
the buttons do not give out the crackling, toyish sound while in use.
the camera captures an image quite quickly, that means u can click and move the camera away in a second. after that, the processing takes 3-4 seconds.
u will get good games and themes on zedge.net and mobile9.com
i would say it is the safest affordable series 40 phone in the market to buy.....
gives u most of the high-end features with a series 40 40 operating system. got it for 8000 rupees from mumbai, india in april '08.
