The Samsung slider SGH-T809 is T-Mobile's beautiful new style phone and it undoubtedly Samsung takes the light and the slim factor phone. Slim adequate to fit into consumers' pockets, T809 offer an incorporated 1.3-megapixel camera, MP3 player with external stereo speakers, and Bluetooth equipment to guarantee it doesn't stay hidden for long. The T809 features a large full-color screen (the 320x240-pixel display measures a charitable 2 inches diagonally). These models too come with three games and an instant-messaging client. Java performance for gaming was honest, but not admirable. MMS and SMS worked well, however there's no e-mail client.
And the T809 is a quad-band, GSM receiver with Class 10 EDGE data ability that must offer from 100 to 160 Kbps downloads. We get 7 h 35 min of uninterrupted talk time on single battery charge, which is fine. Reception was excellent; sound was sharp during the earphone and a Bluetooth receiver, even if the volume doesn't very high.
Ringtones and MP3s are very loud during the stereo speakers. The built-in MP3 player is extraordinary, it supports playlists, comes with an equalizer, and plays high bit-rate, VBR, and AAC - format music off a TransFlash card (a 32MB card is included).
The Bluetooth 2.0 performance worked well, though the available profiles are now basic stuff, similar to setups for file transfer, wireless mono headsets, and dial-up networking. Unhappily, there's no voice dialing, make headsets fewer useful than they could be. If your PC lacks Bluetooth for file transfer, you'll welcome the USB mass-storage drivers on the T809 when used by the included USB cable, they let the phone's memory card to be seen by the PC as a new drive.
The T809's megapixel camera is good for single in a phone. The camcorder mode is first-rate, recording 352 x 288 pixel video with sharp sound at a 13 frames per second. And you can accumulate plenty of images in the 65MB offered by internal memory.
